The Manatee Players
Bradenton, FL
May 8th-25th, 2008
i was just hired as MD [okay, musical director not doctor (though i play one on t.v. - he he : )] and conductor of the musical RAGTIME for The Manatee Players in bradenton, florida [near sarasota]. having played the despised character "Willie Conklin" in Diablo Light Opera Company's rave production in 2003, i am excited to be on the other side of the stage for this mammoth musical based on E. L. Doctorow's sprawling novel. with a book by Terrence McNally, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and music by Stephen Flaherty, i am thrilled to be working on a musical of such caliber and with a theatre company like award-winning Manatee Players. watch my blog for updates as we get into rehearsals and gear toward performance.
check out the incredible opening number of the show featured on the 1998 TONY AWARDS:
